You can see the slick, oily, spots on this supposedly weathered monopole tower's top They took a lot of rubbing to make tower paint adhere. Sprayed on paint would not have adhered, though it might have stayed on until impacted.
You see the snow on the ground? It was freezing at night, and snowing and raining during the days. I had about 3 hours a day to paint this tower, if that. Spraying this tower was impracticable. I don't like dumping my spray unit's cleaning water on the ground anyway.
