Bluffdale, Utah, Monopole: March 2006
I mitt painted this cellular, monopole tower by myself, between intermittent snow and rain storms.

This galvanized cell tower had been up for a few years, but if I had sprayed over the greasy, slick spots that still remained on this tower's galvanizing, the tower paint would not have stuck in those spots, and would have flaked eventually.

Instead, I spent a lot of time cleaning and going over my mitt painting time after time. The result is a beautiful tower, and a paint job I'm proud of that will last.

Spray painting this tower would have been much quicker. We could have been down the road with our money before any tower paint flaking occurred.

We could have also found a place on the site to dump our paint water after cleaning our paint hoses. That's not something I'd feel good about.

It took time to paint this tower right, and we didn't make much for painting it, but it still looks good today.
